Outdoor Classroom

Outdoor Classroom

Over 600 children from 25 different primary schools have taken part in  pilot Outdoor Classroom sessions  which ended last week. With themes such as Story telling and Global Cultures the Outdoor Classroom Primary sessions linked in with curriculum subjects and taught the children in the inspiring setting of local woodlands.

With Funding from the Ernest Cook Trust, Plas Derw Trust researched and developed the new project and we were able to deliver 25 sessions free of charge to local Primary schools as a taster. We are always looking at ways to increase our  sustainability and survive the current economic climate as funding becomes harder and harder to secure. The Outdoor Classroom Primary Project was developed for schools to use in their programme of educational visits. Our team of Forest School Leaders delivered 25 session free of charge to schools allowing all eight themes to be trailed before the programme is launched to all Primary schools in North East Wales and Cheshire in the autumn.
